My therapeutic experience spans over two decades, providing me with a rich and nuanced understanding of the human experience and its many challenges. I specialize in complex trauma, anxiety, dissociation, and relationship issues with individuals, couples, and families.

You may feel overwhelmed by past traumatic experiences, stuck in unhelpful patterns of anxiety or depression, or disconnected in your relationships with unresolved issues. I believe in actively engaging with you, sharing insights and authentic observations from our sessions rather than simply sitting quietly. Together we can integrate mind and body to address the root causes of your distress.

What is possible? You can gain deeper self-understanding, process difficult emotions, and build healthier coping strategies so you are empowered to create a more connected, authentic, and fulfilling life.
I also enjoy teaching the underlying theories behind the techniques we explore, empowering you to adapt them to your unique life. This dynamic, collaborative style, combined with my ability to pull from a wide range of therapies to customize every step of your treatment, ensures a deeply tailored and effective healing journey.
I draw from a diverse mix of modalities to create a unique therapeutic experience for each client, rather than rigidly adhering to one type of therapy. While I generally integrate various concepts, when appropriate I will use a specific modality such as EMDR or Internal Family Systems (IFS) as the primary framework for our work. I strongly believe that growth extends beyond our sessions, so I often suggest "homework" or practices for you to engage with between meetings. This is typically not paper-based homework. We usually talk about practical applications that come out of our discussions, so that you can apply them outside of therapy in the real world. This will help you get the most out of our time together.

I have had the privilege of supporting people from all walks of life. I started my career working with individuals with developmental exceptionalities, then moved into supporting people transitioning out of prison where I learned a lot about trauma, resilience, and rebuilding life. I have worked in schools and medical settings too, helping youth and adults through a wide range of emotional and mental health challenges. Also, I am Indigenous and I have experience working with Indigenous clients. All of these experiences shape how I show up today -- as someone who truly listens, who sees the whole person in front of me, and who believes deeply in the power of healing relationships.

My counselling philosophy is rooted in a client-centred and humanistic approach, built on the belief that every individual possesses an innate capacity for growth and healing. I foster a collaborative and compassionate space where we work together to understand your unique challenges and strengths. My goal is to empower you with insight and practical tools, facilitating a journey toward self-acceptance, resilience, and a life lived with greater authenticity and connection.

Beyond my Work:
I balance my time with a mix of quiet introspection and meaningful connections. As an introvert I cherish moments of calm, often engrossed in a good movie, a captivating book, or exploring complex strategies in chess and occasional video games. However, my heart truly lights up when spending time with my friends and my beloved goddaughters, or simply enjoying the comforting presence of my cats. I also have an insatiable curiosity and a passion for learning anything and everything, which continually enriches my understanding of the world and, in turn, my work.
