Welcome! I am a seasoned psychotherapist in Hamilton with two decades of experience. I specialize in developmental and complex trauma, anxiety and low self-worth. I also have experience working with highly sensitive people and neurodivergent folks.
I am here to offer you the kind of safety you need, whatever (and however) that means to you.
If you feel isolated, let's work together to shift this for you. If you are struggling with obsessions and compulsions, I can support you to gradually reduce your anxiety. If you are afraid of getting close to people or being hurt yet again, we can work with your parts to build trust and self-acceptance within yourself first and then with others.
If you notice you are sensitive to criticism, get overwhelmed easily (including by visual and auditory stimulation), tend to be a people-please, empathize to the extreme, or apologize so much it annoys people we can look at this together. With work you can begin to take pride in your sensitivity and step into it as a strength rather than a weakness.
Many of my clients struggle with patterns of unhealthy relationships, family rifts and estrangement, perfectionism, self-criticism, anxiety and depression. You can practice being vulnerable with me so you can learn to take risks with others and to let the right ones in. Our work can help you to feel more valued and understood.
My job as your therapist is to help you create the right conditions to heal your attachment wounds and care for yourself more deeply.

I find joy in being in the woods and other wild places -- the more remote the better. Photographing nature is never as good as the real thing, but it's a great reminder!
