Sensorimotor Psychotherapy
At Making Space Psychotherapy, we are pleased to offer Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP), a gentle yet powerful way of healing that honours mind and body.
Developed by Pat Ogden, this modality recognizes that when trauma or early attachment wounding happens the body often carries the story in subtle ways: patterns of tension, movement, posture, freeze, or shut-down.
Rather than relying purely on talk, SP helps you tune into the felt sense of your body -- the lean forward, the holding of the breath, the subtle muscle tone -- and works with these signals as allies in your healing process.
Our clinic welcomes individuals who:
- have experienced childhood trauma, attachment wounds, neglect, or early caregiving disruption.
- feel stuck in their bodies: chronic tension, pain, dissociation, a sense of being cut-off from the body.
- experience repeated emotional patterns: anxiety, overwhelm, relationship reactivity, difficulty regulating.
- might have tried talk-therapy but still feel there’s a piece missing.
