Working with me.
Hello and welcome! I am a passionate trauma therapist who can support you with symptoms of complex trauma, anxiety, self-esteem, and relationship issues such as gaslighting abuse, narcissism, emotional abuse and more.
I work a lot with relational themes, like the ways we connect with ourselves and with the people around us. This can look like exploring patterns in your relationships, setting healthier boundaries, building stronger communication, or finding more balance between your needs and the needs of others. Our work together might touch on family dynamics, friendships, or intimate relationships since these are such a big part of how we experience life.
Our work may also focus on understanding and connecting to how your feelings show up in your body -- and we can explore that at a pace that’s gentle and feels right for you.
I keep things easygoing and light (no agenda). I follow what’s coming up for you in the moment while also keeping your bigger goals in the back of my mind so we stay on track. I bring humour (when it's right) and invite you to show up just as you are and imperfectly. My hope is that we not only do meaningful work together but that you enjoy your time in therapy.
It's important for us to look at what's important to you, and what you want your life to feel like. From there, we can explore ways to live more in line with those values so life feels more authentic and grounded. These values often become a guide for the choices you make, the way you show up your relationships, and other important parts of life that naturally come up in our work together.
I am trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS), and I also use a variety of techniques you can build your self-awareness, develop different coping skills, and improve how you relate to yourself and others. Through our work we can reduce your anxiety and get you feeling more confident, empowered and connected—to yourself and to the people in your life.
I have worked in community mental health to support women survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault. I have also worked with children and teenagers for many years, both through employment and volunteer roles, including with the Halton Children’s Aid Society and the Learning Disabilities Association of Burlington-Halton-Hamilton. In these roles, I’ve supported the neurodiverse community and worked to be a positive role model for those navigating their own unique challenges—something I’m truly passionate about! These experiences have really shaped my approach to trauma-informed therapy.
I completed my undergraduate studies at McMaster University, and graduate studies at Yorkville University. I have also completed comprehensive training in Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy. I'm currently completing additional training in Relational Trauma - specifically narcissistic relationships, emotional abuse and gaslighting.
I look forward to meeting you!
Beyond my work.
Movement is a big part of my life, and I truly believe it can be a powerful tool for both physical and mental well-being. I am extremely passionate about practices like hot yoga and pilates, which help me stay grounded, balanced, and connected to my body. I love how movement allows me to tune into the present moment and cultivate a sense of inner strength!
