Working with me.
I support people who are navigating grief, stress, big emotions and complicated life seasons. I have a special interest in working with caregivers and helping professionals, first responders and individuals living with OCD.
Sometimes it can feel like your mind and body are constantly on high alert. You might feel anxious, overwhelmed or disconnected from yourself and the people around you. Therapy can be a place to slow things down and finally catch your breath. Together, we will make sense of what you are carrying, build skills that actually help and reconnect with the strengths that are already there.
I am also a Registered Recreation Therapist, and I bring that focus on well-being and meaningful activity into both my personal life and my work with clients. I do not just focus on symptoms. I want to help you understand the “why” behind what you are experiencing, uncover resilience you did not know you had and build practical tools to navigate life’s challenges. My approach is a mix of deep understanding, real-world support and a genuine partnership in your growth journey.
I believe real change takes courage. It often means embracing uncertainty and trying new ways of being, even when it feels easier to go back to what is familiar. People are complex, really complex. We are shaped by our experiences, emotions, beliefs and relationships and it makes sense that different parts of you show up at different times. When those parts feel in conflict, or when how you feel does not match how you think you should feel, it can be painful, especially if you have felt judged or misunderstood.
My work is shaped by both clinical training and lived experience. As the eldest daughter and a caretaker from a young age, I understand the responsibility, empathy and emotional labour that can come with caring for others. I also know change is not linear. I aim to create a space where you feel supported whether you are making progress, feeling stuck or trying something new.
As a therapist, my role is to support you through this complexity. I stay with you as you explore, experiment and learn. I will hold the map when things feel overwhelming so meaningful, lasting change can become possible.
In our work together, I may draw from DBT to help you build skills for emotional regulation, coping through hard moments and navigating relationships. I also use ACT to help you connect with your values and take steps toward the life you want, even when difficult thoughts or feelings show up. When it fits, I incorporate IFS to help you understand the different parts of yourself, work through inner conflict and build more self-trust.
I also bring in gentle body-based practices to help you reconnect with your body, notice how stress shows up physically and release tension over time. This might include grounding, mindful breathing and simple regulation exercises to help calm your nervous system and manage overwhelm. My style is collaborative, paced to your comfort and focused on helping you build practical tools you can take with you beyond our sessions.
If you are ready to make some space for yourself, I would love to meet you.
Beyond my work.
Outside of therapy, I’m a big fan of iced coffee—hot, cold, or somewhere in between—good conversation, and occasionally indulging in a sweet treat (cinnamon roll, anyone?). I value humour (maybe stand-up should go on my bucket list), curiosity, and finding small moments of joy in everyday life.
