My educational background is in psychology, gender equality, and social justice, and I’m also interested in philosophy and the pursuit of the meaning(s) of life. During my studies, I had the opportunity to complete a research project in Norway exploring friluftsliv (a cultural practice that emphasizes connecting with nature and living freely) and its relationship to wellbeing. The experience gave me an even greater appreciation for the important role access to nature plays in our lives.

 

Outside of work, I’m happiest surrounded by animals, especially my two cats and two dogs. I love hiking with the dogs in the woods, particularly in the fall–yes, I’m a pumpkin spice latte person! I’m also a fan of horror movies (especially the bad ones) and sci-fi, particularly The X-Files and Doctor Who. I enjoy painting, experimenting in the kitchen, and creating my own recipes–including what may be the best oat milk recipe ever. In short, I’m most energized by a life of variety!
