Registered Psychotherapist

M.A. Counselling Psychology, B.A.(Hons) Psychology
Graduate Certificate, Concurrent Disorders
Emotionally Focused Therapy I & II (EFIT)

I am a Registered Psychotherapist in Hamilton with more than 10 years experience working with adults and teens. I have a very down-to-earth, direct approach and work with a variety of issues through the lens of attachment and inner-child work including self-esteem, identity work, ADHD, stress, trauma, anxiety and depression. I work in different ways based on what I learn about you and what you are hoping to do in your life.

You may feel as though life is not going the way you expected, or that your relationships and the patterns in your life just aren't adding up. You may be ready for change but muddled about how to start.

If you are ready to look inward what I offer is a supportive, judgement-free space where we can work together to name your goals and figure out how to make them happen. Let's explore how your current struggles and emotions may be connected to your childhood experiences. In our work together you can deepen your access to emotions, and engage with younger parts of yourself so you can improve your relationship with yourself and others.

I am known for being informal and easy to connect with. When it fits I can also bring a sense of spirituality to my work (secular, not religious).

Before coming to this clinic I worked in a non-profit setting supporting adults, teens, and children with a variety of issues. I also worked with adult students to address grief, relationships and matters of identity. My thesis focussed on body-image and weight-control beliefs.

I completed my graduate studies at Western University and my undergraduate studies at McMaster University. My graduate practicum was completed at Kings College University at Western supporting university students. And my undergraduate practicum was completed at Chedoke Hospital providing group therapy to families in the context of child anger. I have since gone on to train in Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy - Level 1 & 2.

If you are ready to get started I am all in. Let's connect!

Beyond my Work:

I was a competitive dancer growing up, and have taught classes for kids and adults. I still take dance classes myself today! Tap is my favourite because it challenges my memory and coordination skills, but I also love lyrical/contemporary for the connection to the music it offers. I enjoy baking cookies (sharing and eating them!), going for walks and reading a good mystery novel!

LGBTQ2+ Symbol

ALL are welcome.

The land on which our clinics operate have been the traditional land of the Erie, Neutral, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee, and Mississaugas of the Credit for thousands of years. Making Space Psychotherapy and its staff are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land. We also acknowledge and have gratitude for the knowledge about trauma and connection, and the elements of our work in various modalities that have come from ancient, ancestral and Indigenous or First People's ways of knowing and healing.
