Louis Periatambee

Registered Psychotherapist

M.A. Counselling Psychology, B.A.
Gottman Method Couples I&II
EFT: Attachment for Couples in Crisis

I support my clients to understand themselves, and to find meaning and balance in their lives. I have experience with a variety of issues including  couples in crisis, anxiety, depression, boundaries, infidelity, family issues, relationships, trauma, sexual identity, LGBTQ2+, big changes, and personal growth.

Perhaps you are having problems at work, conflict at home, relationship troubles, unresolved past events, feelings of depression, anxiety and isolation. Perhaps you are feeling overwhelmed or hopeless. Or maybe life is just too difficult to navigate at the moment. Whatever your reasons are for seeking help we can talk about it, process what is happening, and create a way forward.

My style is supportive and ‘non-judgy’ (with a British accent). I work primarily with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy/Attachment, Gottman Couples Method, integrating Gestalt, Parts work, Person Centred and Solutions Focussed techniques.

I work with a variety of people from all walks of life, including couples, LGBTQ2+, and racially marginalized folks.

I completed my undergraduate training in London, England, and my graduate training in Canada. I have since gone on to complete training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Gottman Couples Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy: Attachment-Based Interventions for Couples in Crisis with Sue Johnson.

My life experiences professionally and personally allow me to attune to your distress and to create a safe, compassionate space for you to process and notice what is possible.

Let's connect.

Beyond my Work:

I came to Canada from the UK, and left a career as a television creative to pursue more meaningful, one-to-one work as a therapist. My previous profession enabled me to live in different countries and to meet people from diverse cultures and walks of life. These relationships enhance how I now connect with others.

LGBTQ2+ Symbol

ALL are welcome.

The land on which our clinics operate have been the traditional land of the Erie, Neutral, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee, and Mississaugas of the Credit for thousands of years. Making Space Psychotherapy and its staff are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land. We also acknowledge and have gratitude for the knowledge about trauma and connection, and the elements of our work in various modalities that have come from ancient, ancestral and Indigenous or First People's ways of knowing and healing.
