Hello! I specialize in complex trauma, personality disorders, C-PTSD, parenting issues and also work with those exploring their sexual and gender identities.

It's important that you feel seen, supported and understood -- especially if this has not been your experience up to this point.
I have a lot of flexibility in the ways I work, mostly because I work with adults, children, parents and families who all have different needs. I have experience working with neurodivergent and LGBTQ children and adults and am culturally inclusive.

As an Indigenous, LGBTQ woman and parent of 6 children I have a unique perspective and offer an open space for you to be you and to share your experience.
Adults: I offer a body-aware approach to therapy that honours the ways trauma and emotion can live in both the mind and body, and I blend different techniques based on what feels right for you. You are the authority of your own journey!
Children: In my work with children, a parent may come to me with their young child and explain that they are having difficulties at school with big behaviours. I like to use non-directive play therapy to understand the behaviour through the themes that may show up. We then formulate a treatment plan to help the parents and sometimes schools to support kiddo. My training and work with children informs how I think about the bio/psycho/social of child development.

Parents: if you are struggling to understand, manage or relate to your child I can help. Parenting can bring up old wounds and emotional reactions we do not always expect. Together, we can explore what is coming up for you and find ways to support both you and your child. Whether you are navigating behavioural challenges, emotional disconnect or concerns around your child’s development I will walk alongside you with compassion and offer constructive ways to move forward.
Families: I approach my work with you from a trauma-informed lens, which means I am attuned to the ways intergenerational patterns, systemic harm and lived experiences shape how families function and connect. Healing often means helping families understand each other in new ways, building safety and communication one step at a time.
Because of the work I have been doing for the past four years in public and private agencies I understand trauma, attachment, child development, addictions and family dynamics. I have also worked extensively with Indigenous and non-Indigenous clients who have a variety of complex needs.
Using EMDR we can shift some of the symptoms that you are holding in your nervous system. And using IFS you can learn to recognize and appreciate all the different parts that may come up as a result of experiences you have had in life. Acknowledgment and awareness of these different parts can be helpful in healing.

I completed my graduate masters studies at Yorkville University, and my undergraduate studies at Brock University. And I have since trained in the Integrative Trauma and Attachment Treatment Model, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and EMDR. I am currently working on my certification for Play Therapy (with children and adults).
