Rebecca Pschibul

Registered Psychotherapist

M.A. Counselling Psychology, B.A.(Hons) Psychology

I am a Registered Psychotherapist who specializes in trauma and relationship issues, and where they connect. With additional training in somatics and massage therapy, I have developed a deep understanding of the body’s response to trauma and chronic stress.

Before coming to this clinic I worked in private and community settings treating various forms of trauma, including childhood violence, sexual harm, chronic pain, end of life, loss, sex and porn issues, anxiety, depression and self-image. I also worked with first responders, and victims and witnesses of crime and violence.

You may feel like you are stuck in trauma patterns that no longer serve you. You may be struggling to get rest because of nightmares, insomnia, flashbacks and dissociation. This can shake all of the things meant to sustain you -- your relationships, your work, and your sense of safety and peace.

What I can offer you is sensitivity and humour as we notice your strengths, and consider the unique experiences that got you this far. We can work together to interrupt trauma patterns, and to process your past. You can strengthen your mind and body connection, and better regulate your responses and emotions. You may also form healthier, more boundaried relationships.

I completed my graduate studies at Western University, and my masters thesis discussed resilience factors in Ontarians experiencing childhood trauma. My clinical practicum focussed on treating trauma and grief.

As an immigrant to Canada I continue to educate myself on the cultural experiences of others and marginalized groups. I am also mindful of my own privilege.

You may notice that practicing your skills and reflections outside of session moves you along faster, but it's important to know that you can journey at your own speed. You cannot rush (trauma) therapy, and contemplation and resting are an important part of the process. I welcome you as you are!
